The Celebration of Lights and Parade has been lighting up El Paso’s winter season since 2010. The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department host the event along with many city partners making for a great collaboration for the citizens of El Paso.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS
This year’s festivities will be on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at San Jacinto Plaza with entertainment starting at 4:30 p.m. lasting until 11:00 p.m. The Celebration of Lights Program will begin at 5:30 p.m. leading up the lighting of the 55 ft. historic tree donated by Corrine Boyce in 1998 along with the entire Plaza at 5:55 p.m. The Celebration of Lights Parade with sixty entries ranging from floats to marching units and vehicles.
The overall event has grown to historic proportions with upwards of 70,000 people coming downtown to enjoys the fun, festive and magical atmosphere that the holidays.
Mayor Dee Margo and other dignitaries will welcome the people of El Paso as guest speakers and KVIA-TV will once again broadcast the event live on their sister station the CW network and at kvia.com along with their network station Channel 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
There will be booth vendors featuring holiday shopping, live music, and much more.
